We were preparing to check Compton backgrounds and realizedthat the HV was off. We were unable to reach the HV through the portserver. Went to the Hall and tried to connect to the HV mainframe with a serial cable, concluded that mainframe was dead. Switched the mainframe with the mainframe from the Gep Shower counter setup, same problem. After some head scratching concluded that the serial cable we were using had the transmit and receive lines crossed. After getting a proper cable we were able to talk to the mainframe directly but not via the port server. Final conclusion was that problem is most likely with port 11 of hatsv5. Temporary fix was to place beamline HV on the old terminal server Hac42.
